1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Canine | ||||||
4 | Diesel of the Lake County Sheriff's Office, who passed away on | ||||||
5 | September 11, 2021; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Starting his career in 2015, Canine Diesel was a | ||||||
7 | sworn member of the Lake County Sheriff's Office and added | ||||||
8 | tremendous value to the community throughout his years of | ||||||
9 | service; he was the partner of Deputy Craig Somerville and | ||||||
10 | waited anxiously every day for his partner to open the squad | ||||||
11 | car door so they could go to work; and

12 | WHEREAS, Canine Diesel will be remembered for finding | ||||||
13 | dozens of missing endangered people, fleeing felons, and | ||||||
14 | significant amounts of contraband; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Born on September 16th, Canine Diesel was seven | ||||||
16 | years old and had recently been diagnosed with an aggressive | ||||||
17 | cancer found to be in an advanced stage; therefore, be it

18 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
19 | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
20 | we mourn the passing of Canine Diesel and extend our sincere | ||||||
21 | condolences to all who knew and loved him; and be it further
