HOUSE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
Representatives wish to congratulate the Glen Ellyn Park
District on the occasion of its 100th anniversary on November
3, 2019; and
WHEREAS, The Glen Ellyn Park District was formed in October
of 1919; over the years, numerous facilities and open space
have been added to the park district to meet the growing needs
of the community; it provides over 700 programs, serving the
needs of infants through seniors; and
WHEREAS, The Glen Ellyn Park District has 31 parks that
provide recreation, access to open spaces, and preservation of
open lands and animal habitats; the parks are meticulously
maintained for the community's use in both unstructured
recreation and for programmed events; and
WHEREAS, The Glen Ellyn Park District's mission is driven
to foster diverse, community-based leisure opportunities,
through a harmonious blend of quality recreation programs,
facilities, and open space, which will enhance the quality of
life into the future; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE

HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
we congratulate the Glen Ellyn Park District on its 100th
anniversary, and we wish them many more wonderful years; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the Glen Ellyn Park District as a symbol of our
respect and esteem.
