HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, In March of 2020, the State of Illinois was
3ordered into a work from home posture in response to the
4COVID-19 pandemic; and
5 WHEREAS, The tools and processes that were put in place in
6response to the pandemic began immediately to provide remote
7capability to employees who were delivering a myriad of
8services to Illinois residents in every corner of the State;
9and
10 WHEREAS, Traditionally, State employees worked almost
11exclusively from the office; and
12 WHEREAS, Remote work has now become a permanent part of
13many State jobs; therefore, be it
14 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
15HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
16the Auditor General is directed to conduct a management audit
17of the impact of remote work on productivity and efficacies
18within State agencies; and be it further
19 RESOLVED, That we direct the Auditor General to commence
20this audit as soon as possible and report his findings and

1recommendations upon completion in accordance with the
2provisions of Section 3-14 of the Illinois State Auditing Act;
3and be it further
4 RESOLVED, That the Auditor General is urged to report its
5findings and recommendations to the General Assembly by
6December 31, 2024; and be it further
7 RESOLVED, That all State agencies or other entities having
8information relevant to this audit are urged to cooperate
9fully and promptly with the Auditor General's Office in the
10conduct of this audit; and be it further
