Bill Title: Amends the Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Administrative Act. Provides that the Department of Human Resources shall partner with the State Board of Education to provide technical assistance for the provision of mental health care during school days with the goal of increasing the availability and accessibility of mental health resources for students. Provides that the Department shall report to the General Assembly on the implementation of the technical assistance provision no later than July 1, 2025. Provides for rulemaking by the Department and the State Board of Education.

AN ACT concerning State government.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The Mental Health and Developmental
Disabilities Administrative Act is amended by adding Section
76.2 as follows:
(20 ILCS 1705/76.2 new)
Sec. 76.2. Technical assistance for mental health
resources in schools. The Department shall partner with the
State Board of Education to provide technical assistance for
the provision of mental health care during school days with
the goal of increasing the availability and accessibility of
mental health resources for students. The Department shall
report to the General Assembly on the implementation of this
Section no later than July 1, 2025. The Department and the
State Board of Education may adopt rules to implement this
Section.
