1 AN ACT concerning State government.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Century Network Act is amended by
5 changing Section 5 as follows:
6 (20 ILCS 3921/5)
7 Sec. 5. Legislative findings and declarations. The The
8 General Assembly finds and declares:
9 (1) That computing and communications technologies are
10 essential for sustaining economic competitiveness and
11 fostering the educational vitality of this State.
12 (2) That there is an established need for a
13 telecommunications infrastructure that will provide
14 high-speed, reliable, and cost-effective digital
15 connections throughout the State.
16 (3) That a network is required that will deliver
17 educational programs, advanced training, and access to the
18 growing global wealth of information services to citizens
19 in all parts of this State.
