Bill Title: Reinserts the contents of the bill as introduced with the following changes. Provides that the list of the most in-demand jobs in this State shall be compiled in collaboration with the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity and the Department of Employment Security. Provides that upon request, the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity and the Department of Employment Security shall furnish data to the Board of Higher Education.

| 1 | AN ACT concerning education.
| ||||||
| 2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, | ||||||
| 3 | represented in the General Assembly:
| ||||||
| 4 | Section 5. The Board of Higher Education Act is amended by | ||||||
| 5 | adding Section 9.44 as follows:
| ||||||
| 6 | (110 ILCS 205/9.44 new) | ||||||
| 7 | Sec. 9.44. In-demand job list. | ||||||
| 8 | (a) The Board, in collaboration with the Department of | ||||||
| 9 | Commerce and Economic Opportunity and Department of Employment | ||||||
| 10 | Security, shall compile, on an annual basis, a list of the most | ||||||
| 11 | in-demand jobs in this State, along with the starting salary, | ||||||
| 12 | the median salary, and the typical education level for those | ||||||
| 13 | jobs. | ||||||
| 14 | Upon request, the Department of Commerce and Economic | ||||||
| 15 | Opportunity and the Department of Employment Security shall | ||||||
| 16 | furnish data to the Board to fulfill the requirements of this | ||||||
| 17 | subsection (a). | ||||||
| 18 | (b) The Board shall make the list compiled under | ||||||
| 19 | subsection (a) available to the public on its Internet | ||||||
| 20 | website.
