2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Lucille H. Stevenson of Godfrey, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on February 23, 2017, at the age of 91; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Lucille Stevenson was born in Hoyleton to Henry | ||||||
6 | and Amanda (Westerfeld) Nierman on October 21, 1925; she | ||||||
7 | married George "Steve" Stevenson of Salem on September 19, | ||||||
8 | 1948; they later moved to Alton; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Lucille Stevenson was Secretary/Treasurer of | ||||||
10 | Quality Buick GMC Cadillac; she was a lifelong member of | ||||||
11 | Evangelical United Church of Christ in Godfrey, a member of the | ||||||
12 | Godfrey Women's Group, P.E.O. Chapter Illinois, a volunteer for | ||||||
13 | Meals on Wheels, the Caravan, Service League, and other | ||||||
14 | organizations; she enjoyed golfing, gardening, traveling, | ||||||
15 | bridge, and many activities at church; and

16 | WHEREAS, Lucille Stevenson was preceded in death by her | ||||||
17 | parents; her husband; two brothers, Leroy and Robert Nierman; | ||||||
18 | and a sister, Elsie Pries; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Lucille Stevenson is survived by her two sons, | ||||||
20 | Greg Stevenson and his wife Gerri, and David Stevenson and his | ||||||
21 | wife Carol; four grandchildren, Jill Stevenson, Natalie |

7 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
8 | Lucille H. Stevenson, and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
9 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
