2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Millard R. "Red" Rakestraw, formerly of | ||||||
4 | McHenry, who passed away on February 13, 2017; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Millard Rakestraw was born in Mineral to Millard | ||||||
6 | F. and Minnie Rakestraw on January 25, 1929; he married Ruth A. | ||||||
7 | Lamer on February 10, 1951; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Millard Rakestraw worked initially as a farmer and | ||||||
9 | then as a mechanic; farmers entering tractor pull competitions | ||||||
10 | will remember him as the mechanic to hire to get the most out | ||||||
11 | of their tractors; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Millard Rakestraw and his wife moved to Stanford, | ||||||
13 | Kentucky in July of 2011; he was a member of St. William | ||||||
14 | Catholic Church in Lancaster, Kentucky; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Millard Rakestraw was preceded in death by his | ||||||
16 | parents; his brothers, Donald and Dale; his sisters, Katherine | ||||||
17 | and Frances; and his son-in-law, Fred Schmidtgall; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Millard Rakestraw is survived by his wife of 66 | ||||||
19 | years, Ruth; his son, Michael Rakestraw; his daughters, Peggy | ||||||
20 | (Paul) Waldoch, and Patricia Schmidtgall; his grandchildren, |

8 | Millard R. "Red" Rakestraw, and extend our sincere condolences | ||||||
9 | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | ||||||
