SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
to learn of the death of Jerome "Jerry" Slowik, who passed away
on October 2, 2022 at the age of 75; and
WHEREAS, Jerry Slowik was born to Stanley and Irene Slowik
on August 25, 1947; he lived in both River Forest and Elmwood
Park; and
WHEREAS, Jerry Slowik graduated from St. Patrick High
School; he earned his Bachelor of Science and his Master of
Science in Taxation from DePaul University; and
WHEREAS, Jerry Slowik worked as an accountant and
controller for several firms, the Pizzerias Uno and Due, and
El Milagro; and
WHEREAS, Jerry Slowik served as treasurer of the
Nineteenth Century Charitable Association; and
WHEREAS, Jerry Slowik participated in a singles tennis
club and was a fan of the Chicago White Sox, the Chicago
Blackhawks, and Northwestern University; and
WHEREAS, Jerry Slowik was preceded in death by his

parents; and
WHEREAS, At the time of his passing, Jerry Slowik was
survived by his wife, Helene (Bak) Slowik; his son, Joseph
"Joe" Slowik; his cousin, Maryann Tolzien; his
brothers-in-law, Martin, Richard, and Bernie; and his nephews;
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Jerome "Jerry" Slowik and extend our sincere condolences to
his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Jerry Slowik as an expression of our
deepest sympathy.
