SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Harold B. Rawley of Norris, who passed
4away on December 18, 2023; and
5 WHEREAS, Harold Rawley was born to Lee Roy and Clara
6(Hedges) Rawley in Breeds; he served in the U.S. Army; he
7married Dorothy J. Steagall-Mitchell on November 14, 1962, and
8she preceded him in death on July 27, 2020; and
9 WHEREAS, Harold Rawley retired from International
10Harvester in Canton in 1974; and
11 WHEREAS, Harold Rawley was a member of the Assembly of God
12Church in Canton; he was also a member of the Canton VFW and a
13past member of the Moose Lodge; and
14 WHEREAS, Harold Rawley was preceded in death by his
15parents; his son, Cecil Rawley; his stepson, Donald Mitchell;
16his brothers, Jesse and Cecil; and his sisters, Elsie, Lucile,
17Burnice, Reba, Evelyn, and Vera; and
18 WHEREAS, Harold Rawley is survived by his stepsons, Paul
19Mitchell, James Mitchell, Thomas Mitchell, Richard (Jessie)
20Mitchell, and Stephen (Martha) Mitchell; numerous

1grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several
2great-great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
3 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Harold B. Rawley and extend our sincere condolences to his
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
