2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Frances A. Larsen of McHenry, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on June 17, 2015; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Frances Larsen was born in Hanna, Indiana on April | ||||||
6 | 18, 1926 to Calvin and Eva Thomas; she was later adopted by | ||||||
7 | Merritt and Alice Metz; she married Otto Larsen on June 30, | ||||||
8 | 1951; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Frances Larsen was reported to be the first female | ||||||
10 | meter reader in the state of Indiana; she was an Illinois Bell | ||||||
11 | phone operator in Champaign-Urbana and customer service | ||||||
12 | representative in McHenry until 1962; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Frances Larsen was an avid gardener, cook, and the | ||||||
14 | self-proclaimed "Mayor of Riverside Drive"; she served on the | ||||||
15 | McHenry District 15 School Board for 13 years and was one of | ||||||
16 | the founding members of McHenry's Pigtail League; when she and | ||||||
17 | her husband first arrived in McHenry, they were active McHenry | ||||||
18 | Little League contributors; she was a member of the McHenry | ||||||
19 | County League of Women Voters, the Order of the Eastern Star, | ||||||
20 | and the Historical Society; she also volunteered her time with | ||||||
21 | P.A.D.S. and was an election judge official for many years; and

1 | WHEREAS, Frances Larsen was preceded in death by her | ||||||
2 | husband, Otto; and
| ||||||
3 | WHEREAS, Frances Larsen is survived by her 3 adopted | ||||||
4 | children, Hans (Janet), Fritz, and Greta (Joseph); her | ||||||
5 | grandchildren, Emily and Otto Krueger; and her sisters, Mary | ||||||
6 | Evers and Lucy Finch; therefore, be it

7 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
8 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
9 | Frances A. Larsen, and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
10 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
11 | further
| ||||||
12 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
13 | presented to the family of Frances Larsen as an expression of | ||||||
14 | our deepest sympathy.
