2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of William "Bill" J. Lockhart of | ||||||
4 | Springfield, who passed away on July 6, 2020; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Bill Lockhart was born to William H. and Nina | ||||||
6 | Frances (Crabtree) Lockhart in Winchester on July 13, 1928; he | ||||||
7 | graduated from Springfield High School in 1939 and attended | ||||||
8 | George Washington University in Washington, D.C.; he married | ||||||
9 | Charlotte Elaine Lantz at the Cathedral of the Immaculate | ||||||
10 | Conception in Springfield on November 22, 1951; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Bill Lockhart proudly served in the U.S. Navy from | ||||||
12 | 1942 until he retired in 1963; he was the Senior Vice President | ||||||
13 | and Trust Financial Planning Officer for Bank of America in | ||||||
14 | Delray Beach, Florida until he retired in 1989; he then worked | ||||||
15 | as a Private Trust Consulting Officer in mid-Florida, retiring | ||||||
16 | in 1993; and

17 | WHEREAS, Bill Lockhart was a former member of the Sangamo | ||||||
18 | Club and numerous clubs in Florida; he served on the board of | ||||||
19 | directors for the original Springfield Theater Guild and was a | ||||||
20 | past National Commander of the Navy Club of America; and
| ||||||
21 | WHEREAS, Bill Lockhart was preceded in death by his parents |

1 | and his sister, Pat Hesse; and
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, Bill Lockhart is survived by his wife, Charlotte; | ||||||
3 | his numerous nieces and nephews, including Debra (David) Bruce | ||||||
4 | and Steve (Becky) Hesse; and his several cousins; therefore, be | ||||||
5 | it
| ||||||
6 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
7 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that that we mourn the | ||||||
8 | passing of
William "Bill" J. Lockhart and extend our sincere
| ||||||
9 | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
| ||||||
10 | him; and be it further
| ||||||
11 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
| ||||||
12 | presented to the family of Bill Lockhart as an expression of
| ||||||
13 | our deepest sympathy.
