1 | SENATE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Glenn Edwin Leable of Wadsworth, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on December 14, 2019; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Glenn Leable was born to Kenneth and Helene Leable | ||||||
6 | on October 18, 1950; he spent his childhood in Gurnee; he | ||||||
7 | attended Gurnee Grade School; he was an Eagle Scout; he | ||||||
8 | graduated from Warren Township High School in 1968; after one | ||||||
9 | year at Wright College, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in | ||||||
10 | 1969; he served with the USMC in Okinawa, Japan and Cuba | ||||||
11 | through 1971; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Following his military service, Glenn Leable | ||||||
13 | worked for many years "building Gurnee" and the surrounding | ||||||
14 | communities with his father, brother, and uncles; he became a | ||||||
15 | certified millwright and built his beautiful, lifelong home | ||||||
16 | with the help of various family and friends; and

17 | WHEREAS, Glenn Leable was a proud union millwright with | ||||||
18 | Local 1693; he worked in the Chicago area and out of state, | ||||||
19 | including maintaining power plants in Maine and Puerto Rico; he | ||||||
20 | used his skills to help his brother Larry install an F-111A | ||||||
21 | Aardvark jet as a memorial to other veterans in Waukegan; and

1 | WHEREAS, Glenn Leable enjoyed spending time at his family | ||||||
2 | cabin in Alvin, Wisconsin; in recent years, he also enjoyed | ||||||
3 | saltwater fishing and beachcombing in the Bahamas with his | ||||||
4 | family; he was a proud father and grandfather, who relished in | ||||||
5 | passing along his knowledge of the 110-year old family dinner | ||||||
6 | roll recipe and family gardening secrets; he was a lifelong | ||||||
7 | Bears fan and dog lover; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Glenn Leable was preceded in death by his parents; | ||||||
9 | his brother, Larry Leable; and his grandson, George Leable; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Glenn Leable is survived by his wife, Rita Leable; | ||||||
11 | his son, Brett (Rachael) Leable; his daughter, Carissa (Bret) | ||||||
12 | Clinkingbeard; his sister, Barbara Leable; his aunt, Dorothy | ||||||
13 | Schneider; his uncle, Hank Schneider; his grandsons, Barret, | ||||||
14 | Bennet, and Emmett; and his many wonderful cousins, large | ||||||
15 | extended family, friends, and co-workers; therefore, be it

16 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
17 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
18 | Glenn Edwin Leable and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
19 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
20 | further

21 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
22 | presented to the family of Glenn Leable as an expression of our |
