1 | SENATE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Virginia R. Timpone of Urbana, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on January 19, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Ginger Timpone was born in Rantoul to Anthony and | ||||||
6 | Hazel Remesch, the seventh of eight children, on January 4, | ||||||
7 | 1956; she was raised in St. Joseph and graduated from St. | ||||||
8 | Joseph High School in 1974; she attended Saint Mary of the | ||||||
9 | Woods in Terre Haute, Indiana, where she studied art and | ||||||
10 | science; she then moved back to Champaign and attended Parkland | ||||||
11 | College; she married Raymond M. Timpone Jr. at the Urbana | ||||||
12 | Country Club on August 14, 1982; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Ginger Timpone, along with Ray, opened the Urbana | ||||||
14 | restaurant and family cornerstone, Timpone's Ristorante; her | ||||||
15 | artistic instincts and passion to create led her to the | ||||||
16 | culinary arts; she attended the New York School of Pastry and | ||||||
17 | studied baking and the art of pastry in 1989; in 1998, she | ||||||
18 | studied at the Greenbriar Resort in White Sulphur Springs, West | ||||||
19 | Virginia; she refined her talent for over 30 years and was | ||||||
20 | incredibly proud of "The Restaurant"; and
| ||||||
21 | WHEREAS, Ginger Timpone was involved in her community as a | ||||||
22 | volunteer at Holy Cross Grade School, as a benefactor who |

1 | helped drive the construction of Saint Thomas More, and as a | ||||||
2 | champion of Catholic education; she was a proud and active | ||||||
3 | member of St. Patrick's Parish and served as the trustee of the | ||||||
4 | Parish Council for nine years, as well as the Chairperson of | ||||||
5 | the Capital Campaign to remodel the church; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Ginger Timpone enjoyed sewing and design and took | ||||||
7 | pride in remodeling her lake house; she also enjoyed gardening | ||||||
8 | and time spent in Florida with family; she lived her life with | ||||||
9 | compassion, thoughtfulness, and support to all and embodied the | ||||||
10 | family motto, "No matter what, we always stick together"; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Ginger Timpone was preceded in death by her son, | ||||||
12 | Raymond N. Timpone; her sister, Mary Remesch Waller; and her | ||||||
13 | brother, Michael Remesch; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Ginger Timpone is survived by her husband, Ray; | ||||||
15 | her children, Nicholas (Gabrielle) Timpone and Natalie | ||||||
16 | Timpone; her grandson, Ryan Timpone; her siblings, Jeanne | ||||||
17 | Grady, Kathy Sarnecki, Tony Remesch, David Remesch, and Monica | ||||||
18 | Munds; and her many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and | ||||||
19 | friends; therefore, be it

20 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
21 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
22 | Virginia R. Timpone and extend our sincere condolences to her |

1 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
2 | further
| ||||||
3 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
4 | presented to the family of Ginger Timpone as an expression of | ||||||
