2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Robert Louis Day Sr. of Springfield, | ||||||
4 | formerly of Dawson, who passed away on September 23, 2020; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Robert Day Sr. was born in Lincoln to Lewis and | ||||||
6 | Mary (Thomas) Day on November 3, 1942; he married Margaret | ||||||
7 | Kitchen on September 6, 1975; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Robert Day Sr. served as the mayor of Dawson from | ||||||
9 | 1993 to 2013; prior to becoming mayor, he served on the village | ||||||
10 | board for four years; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Robert Day Sr. was a member of the American Legion | ||||||
12 | Post 32 and the Navy Club of Sangamon County Ship 32, and he | ||||||
13 | served as the commander of Ship 32 in 2016; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Robert Day Sr. was preceded in death by his | ||||||
15 | parents and his brother, Terry Day; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Robert Day Sr. is survived by his wife of 45 | ||||||
17 | years, Margaret Day; his children, Robert Day Jr. (Jim Blasko) | ||||||
18 | and Kara Day; his sisters, Gail Day and Karla Klindworth | ||||||
19 | (Brett); his brother, Randy Day (Sherry); his aunt, Jane Rebbe; | ||||||
20 | and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends; therefore, |

2 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
3 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
4 | Robert Louis Day Sr. and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
5 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
6 | further

7 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
