| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Raymond Hartstein of Skokie, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on September 7, 2014; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Raymond Hartstein served for many years as | ||||||
6 | Director of Personnel and Industrial Relations for Brunswick | ||||||
7 | Corporation until his retirement; prior to his work at | ||||||
8 | Brunswick, he worked with the American Embassy in Tel Aviv, | ||||||
9 | Israel as a management advisor setting up training programs for | ||||||
10 | Israeli industries; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Raymond Hartstein was the Founding Chairman of | ||||||
12 | Oakton Community College, where he served as a dedicated board | ||||||
13 | member for 35 years; the Skokie eastern campus was named the | ||||||
14 | Ray Hartstein Campus in honor of his accomplishments; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Raymond Hartstein was a proud Rotarian and a | ||||||
16 | former Skokie Rotary President; he served as President and | ||||||
17 | Board member of Orchard Village; he was also a long-time board | ||||||
18 | member of the Skokie United Way and a community leader in | ||||||
19 | countless other community organizations; and

20 | WHEREAS, Raymond Hartstein is survived by his loving wife | ||||||
21 | of 51 years, Rhea; he was the devoted dad of Elliott Hartstein |

13 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | ||||||
14 | family and friends, mourn the passing of Raymond Hartstein; and | ||||||
15 | be it further

17 | presented to the family of Raymond Hartstein as an expression | ||||||
