2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Raymond L. Bennett of Rock Island, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on November 17, 2020; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Raymond Bennett was born to Parker Leonard and | ||||||
6 | Emily E. (Gruber) Bennett in Clinton, Iowa on March 9, 1921; he | ||||||
7 | served in the U.S. Army during World War II; he married Mabel | ||||||
8 | Stoneburner in East Moline on October 20, 1946; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Raymond Bennett worked for 42 years as a machine | ||||||
10 | operator for John Deere Harvester; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Raymond Bennett was a charter member of St. | ||||||
12 | Matthew Lutheran Church in Milan; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Raymond Bennett enjoyed RV camping, reading, | ||||||
14 | gardening, and nature walks; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Raymond Bennett was preceded in death by his wife; | ||||||
16 | his parents; his siblings and brothers-in-law and | ||||||
17 | sisters-in-law, Floyd (Janet) Bennett, Iola (Ray) Hammelman, | ||||||
18 | Helen (Wendell) Coats, Louise (Jake) Hardi, and Alice Bennett; | ||||||
19 | and his daughter-in-law, Carol Bennett; and

1 | WHEREAS, Raymond Bennett is survived by his children, Larry | ||||||
2 | Bennett, Rik (Paula) Bennett, Jim Bennett, and Randy (Kelly) | ||||||
3 | Bennett; his grandchildren, Kristin, Robin, Rachel, Kyle, | ||||||
4 | Stephanie, Sarah, Jenna, and Evan; and his | ||||||
5 | great-grandchildren, Davon, Brenden, Braden, Lydon, Leonard, | ||||||
6 | Bennett, and Benjamin; therefore, be it
| ||||||
7 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
8 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

9 | Raymond L. Bennett and extend our sincere
