2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Lucy W. Wallace of Marengo, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on October 18, 2014; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Lucy Wallace was born on April 28, 1925 in | ||||||
6 | Belvidere; her parents were Nicholas and Agnes (nee Anderson) | ||||||
7 | West; she married Charles W. Wallace on August 21, 1947 in the | ||||||
8 | Old Stone Church in Rockton; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Lucy Wallace attended Marengo schools and Lake | ||||||
10 | Forest College; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Lucy Wallace worked as a legal secretary in the | ||||||
12 | law department of the Aetna Casualty and Surety Company in | ||||||
13 | Chicago; she later worked for a law firm in Elgin; she also | ||||||
14 | worked at the Wallace Insurance Agency in Marengo for many | ||||||
15 | years; and

16 | WHEREAS, Lucy Wallace was a member of the First | ||||||
17 | Presbyterian Church of Marengo; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Lucy Wallace enjoyed taking many trips throughout | ||||||
19 | the United States with her husband; and

1 | WHEREAS, Lucy Wallace was preceded in death by her parents | ||||||
2 | and her husband; and
| ||||||
3 | WHEREAS, Lucy Wallace is survived by a daughter, Patricia | ||||||
4 | Wallace; 3 nephews, James (Sandy) Carmichael, Chuck (Barbara) | ||||||
5 | Carmichael, and Greg Carmichael; a niece, Jane Montgomery; and | ||||||
6 | several great-nephews and great-nieces; therefore, be it
| ||||||
7 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | ||||||
8 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her | ||||||
9 | family and friends, mourn the passing of Lucy W. Wallace; and | ||||||
10 | be it further
| ||||||
11 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
12 | presented to the family of Lucy Wallace as an expression of our | ||||||
13 | sympathy.
