SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of John M. O'Hearn of Elmwood Park, who
4passed away on July 16, 2014; and
5 WHEREAS, John O'Hearn was born on September 23, 1944 in
6Rome, New York; he was raised in Oak Park and attended St.
7Catherine Elementary School; he completed grade school at St.
8Luke's in River Forest; he attended Fenwick High School and
9graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1966; he married
10Mary Jo Parker; and
11 WHEREAS, John O'Hearn was a successful businessman,
12spending most of his professional career selling media
13advertising for the Chicago Tribune, CBS, and the American Bar
14Association; and
15 WHEREAS, John O'Hearn coached little league baseball for
16many years; and
17 WHEREAS, John O'Hearn was preceded in death by his parents,
18James J. M.D. and Mary Alice "Pidge" O'Hearn; and
19 WHEREAS, John O'Hearn is survived by his beloved wife, Mary
20Jo; his children, Mary "Bess" (Matt) Raulerson, Jennifer

1Wagner, James (Rebecca), Anastasia "Staci" (Robert) Greenwald,
2and Michael Jude (Maureen Boyle); his 14 grandchildren, Ben,
3Jake, Taylor, Mackenna, John, Zach, Chloe, Emma Grace, Jack,
4Will, Tom, Alice, Max, and Gavin; his great-granddaughter,
5Natalie; his sisters, Mary Kathleen "Toy" (the late Joseph)
6Lund, Suzanne (Chris) Walsh, Mary Alice (James) Sullivan, and
7Molly (Leo) Cavin; and his many cousins, nieces and nephews;
8therefore, be it
9 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11John M. O'Hearn, and extend our sincere condolences to his
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
14 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of John O'Hearn as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
