SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Joseph Menich of Waukegan, who passed
4away on September 13, 2014; and
5 WHEREAS, Joseph Menich was born on June 13, 1927 in
6Chicago; his parents were Joseph and Anna (nee Majercik)
7Menich; he was a resident of Waukegan since 1951; and
8 WHEREAS, Joseph Menich served his country as a member of
9the United States Navy during World War II; and
10 WHEREAS, Joseph Menich was employed with AT&T for 38 years
11until his retirement; and
12 WHEREAS, Joseph Menich was a member of St. Paul Lutheran
13Church, the American Legion Homer Dahringer Post 281, and the
14Telephone Pioneers of America; and
15 WHEREAS, Joseph Menich enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs,
16golfing, and square dancing; and
17 WHEREAS, Joseph Menich was preceded in death by his parents
18and a great-grandchild, Patrick W. Oliver; and

1 WHEREAS, Joseph Menich is survived by his wife of 64 years,
2Lois (nee Gilberts); 2 daughters, Denise (Bob Olsen) Tewes and
3Nancy (James) Rea; 2 grandchildren, Jamie Leigh Rea-Oliver and
4Edward Eric Tewes; and his devoted caregiver, Edmar; therefore,
5be it
6 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
8family and friends, mourn the passing of Joseph Menich; and be
9it further
10 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Joseph Menich as an expression of
12our sympathy.
