SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Barbara Ann Nelson of Waukegan, who
passed away on September 7, 2014; and
WHEREAS, Barbara Nelson was born on October 15, 1933 in
Gladstone, Michigan; her parents were Fred and Anna Brassick;
she married Richard H. Nelson on April 5, 1952; and
WHEREAS, Barbara Nelson graduated from Gladstone High
School in 1951; and
WHEREAS, Barbara Nelson spent most of her life as a
homemaker; and
WHEREAS, Barbara Nelson was a member of St. Anastasia
Parish; and
WHEREAS, Barbara Nelson was preceded in death by 2 sons,
David S. Nelson (1954) and David S. Nelson (2007); her parents;
and a sister, Rosalind Gerau; and
WHEREAS, Barbara Nelson is survived by her husband of 62
years, Richard; 4 children, Michael R. (Mary) Nelson, Ronald G.
(Maria) Nelson, Curt F. Nelson, and Sandra A. (D. Tien) Do; a

sister, Betty Harrison; and many grandchildren and
great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
family and friends, mourn the passing of Barbara Ann Nelson;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Barbara Nelson as an expression of
our sympathy.
