A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION honoring M.A.T.H. Bowl winners from Happy Hollow Elementary (West Lafayette), Dixie Bee Elementary (Terre Haute), Smoky Row Elementary (Carmel), Riverside Elementary (Fishers), and Parkside Elementary (Columbus).

RESOLUTION
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION honoring M.A.T.H. Bowl
winners from Happy Hollow Elementary (West Lafayette), Dixie Bee
Elementary (Terre Haute), Smoky Row Elementary (Carmel), Riverside
Elementary (Fishers), and Parkside Elementary (Columbus).
Whereas, Over 7,000 students from approximately 350
schools throughout Indiana participated in the 2011
M.A.T.H. Bowl sponsored by the Indiana Association of
School Principals;
Whereas, Full-time students in the fourth and fifth grades
are eligible to compete;
Whereas, The competition consists of four rounds with each
round having seven multiple-choice questions;
Whereas, The questions are read to the students and
projected on the screen simultaneously;
Whereas, Schools may have two or three team members
working on a problem in a 30 to 60 second time frame,
depending on the difficulty of the question;
Whereas, The focus of this year's competition was on
number sense, computation, data analysis, probability, and
problem solving;
Whereas, The people of Indiana take great pride in the
accomplishments of their young people;
Whereas, The future of our state rests in the hands of
today's students; and
Whereas, These outstanding young people represent a
bright future for Indiana: Therefore,
SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly congratulates the
M.A.T.H. Bowl winners from Happy Hollow Elementary (West
Lafayette), Dixie Bee Elementary (Terre Haute), Smoky Row
Elementary (Carmel), Riverside Elementary (Fishers), and Parkside
Elementary (Columbus) on their accomplishments and wishes them
continued success in all their future endeavors.
SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of
Representatives transmit a copy of this resolution to the M.A.T.H.
Bowl members and coaches from all the schools.
