RESOLUTION



        A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION honoring Wayne A. Madden.

    Whereas, A native of Auburn, Wayne Madden graduated from Auburn High School and Manchester College;

    Whereas, Upon graduation, Wayne began teaching and coaching in the Peru school system;

    Whereas, In addition to teaching, Wayne also ran a successful insurance business for over 40 years;

    Whereas, Active in his community, Wayne served as a DeKalb County Councilman and was selected as a Distinguished Hoosier by Governor Mitch Daniels;

    Whereas, An active member of the Auburn Lions Club for 28 years, Wayne feels he can best serve his community through his work with the Lions Club;

    Whereas, Wayne has served the Lions in various capacities including president of the Auburn club from 1990-1991;

    Whereas, As time went by, Wayne accepted leadership roles outside his local club serving as District Governor for Northeast Indiana and on the International Association of Lions Club's International Board of Directors representing Lions Clubs throughout Indiana;

    Whereas, Continuing to move up the ladder of success, Wayne was elected 2nd vice president of Lions Clubs

International in 2010, and the following year he became 1st vice president;

    Whereas, In June, 2012, in Busan, Korea, Wayne will be elected president of the Lions Clubs International; and

    Whereas, Wayne A. Madden has dedicated himself to helping others, and dedication such as this deserves special recognition: Therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives

of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana,

the Senate concurring:

    SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly thanks Wayne A. Madden for all his dedicated service to his community, his state, and the Lions Club.
    SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a copy of this resolution to Wayne A. Madden and his family.
