    A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning transportation.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

SOURCE: IC 8-23-3-8; (11)IN0232.1.1. -->     SECTION 1. IC 8-23-3-8 IS AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2011]: Sec. 8. (a) The public mass transportation fund is established for the purpose of promoting and developing public mass transportation in Indiana. The fund shall be administered by the department.
    (b) The treasurer of state may invest the money in the fund in the same manner as other public funds may be invested.
    (c) Money in the fund at the end of a fiscal year does not revert to the state general fund.
     (d) Money distributed from the fund for promoting and developing public mass transportation in a county containing a consolidated city must be distributed to the consolidated city and not to a public transportation corporation located within the county.
