    A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION recognizing Margaretta Meyer's 103rd birthday.

    Whereas, Margaretta Meyer was born in 1909 in Rensselaer. She has two sons, James and Richard, two grandsons and three great-grandchildren. Margaretta was married for 64 years to her late husband Wesley Meyer, whom she met while teaching third and fourth grade at Barkley Township School where he was principal;

    Whereas, Margaretta continues to maintain an active lifestyle. She is an active member of her local church, picking up a neighbor each week before service. Margaretta has attended almost every event held at First Nazarene Church of DeMotte since the church's inception. Until recently, she was the resident pianist for the church for decades, sharing music and joy through her piano playing talents;

    Whereas, Friends find Margaretta Meyer to be selfless, thankful, and kind. Margaretta is an independent and productive member of society, and she continues to be a shining light in the lives of others;
                                        
    Whereas, She continues to enjoy doing daily chores, including caring for her vegetable garden and her many flowers and decorative bushes throughout the summer; and


    Whereas, Margaretta attributes her long and healthy life to strong family genes and her strong faith in God. Her practical outlook on life, and appreciation for simple things allow her to continue enjoying life at only 103 years young: Therefore,

                    
Be it resolved by the Senate     of the General Assembly

of the State of Indiana, the House of Representatives     concurring:


    SECTION 1. The Indiana General Assembly congratulates Margaretta Meyer on the celebration of 103 years of life.
    SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Margaretta Meyer.
