A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION congratulating the North Central
Panthers Girls' Basketball team on winning the Class 4A State
Championship.

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION congratulating the North
Central Panthers Girls' Basketball team on winning the Class 4A State
Championship.
Whereas, The Panthers defeated, number 10 ranked,
Columbus North, 50-48 in overtime, to win the Class 4A State
Championship on Saturday, March 3, 2012;
Whereas, On the road to the championship the Panthers
defeated four of the top nine ranked teams, including previously
undefeated Hamilton Southeastern in the sectional opener;
Whereas, The Panthers beat Penn High School, 65-50, at
the 4A Northern Semi-State game at Warsaw before moving
onto the State Championship game;
Whereas, The team captured their first regional and semi-
state championships in seven years since back-to-back state
titles in 2004 and 2005;
Whereas, The Panthers finished third in the Metropolitan
Interscholastic Conference race with a 5-2 record;
Whereas, This was North Central High School's 58
th
Indiana High School Athletics Association overall state
championship. The last title came in 4A Boys Basketball in
2010; and
Whereas, Coach DeeAnn Ramey, the players, and staff achieved this impressive record and State Championship in Ramey's first year as the Panthers' head coach: Therefore,
of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana,
the House of Representatives
SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly congratulates the
North Central Panthers Girls' Basketball team on winning the Class 4A
State Championship.
SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed to
transmit a copy of this Resolution to Coach DeeAnn Ramey, the North
Central High School Panthers Girls Basketball players, and the staff.
