A SENATE RESOLUTION urging the legislative council to establish an interim study committee to study the development and establishment of a program to test for the use of controlled substances by an individual who is at least 18 years of age and receives assistance under the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program for the individual or on behalf of a child.

MADAM PRESIDENT:
I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
A SENATE RESOLUTION urging the legislative council to
establish an interim study committee to study the development and
establishment of a program to test for the use of controlled substances
by an individual who is at least 18 years of age and receives assistance
under the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program for the
individual or on behalf of a child.
Whereas, Testing for controlled substances for recipients
of assistance under the Temporary Assistance for Needy
Families program requires further study: Therefore,
SECTION 1. That the legislative council is urged to establish an
interim study committee to study the development and establishment
of a program to test for the use of controlled substances by an
individual who is at least 18 years of age and receives assistance under
the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program for the
individual or on behalf of a child.
SECTION 2. That the committee, if established, shall operate
under the direction of the legislative council, and that the committee
shall issue a final report when directed to do so by the council.
