The committee on Environment, Natural Resources and Agriculture to whom were referred the petition (accompanied by bill Senate, No. 372) of Stephen M. Brewer, Benjamin B. Downing, Michael R. Knapik , Jennifer M. Callahan and other members of the General Court for legislation to provide improved management of state forests, the petition (accompanied by bill Senate, No. 374) of Stephen M. Brewer, Jennifer M. Callahan and Anne M. Gobi for legislation relative to the forest products trust fund, the petition (accompanied by bill Senate, No. 380) of Stephen M. Brewer and Bruce E. Tarr for legislation relative to the powers of the department of agricultural resources, the petition (accompanied by bill Senate, No. 383) of Stephen M. Brewer, Benjamin B. Downing, Todd M. Smola, Bruce E. Tarr and other members of the General Court for legislation relative to improving the Massachusetts rural economy for the farm forest and wood products industry, the petition (accompanied by bill House, No. 738) of Anne M. Gobi, Stephen M. Brewer and others for legislation to further regulate forest cutting practices, the petition (accompanied by bill House, No. 748) of Denis E. Guyer, Stephen Kulik and others for legislation to establish a forestry industry economic stimulus program,  the petition (accompanied by bill House, No. 817) of Michael J. Rodrigues, Scott P. Brown and others relative to establishing a trail maintenance program within the Department of Conservation and Recreation, and the petition (accompanied by bill House, No. 853) of Martha M. Walz, Byron Rushing and Anthony W. Petruccelli relative to the protection of certain public parks from the construction of certain high-rise structures, reports recommending that the accompanying order (House, No. 4990) ought to be adopted.

Ordered , That the Joint Committee on Environment, Natural Resources and Agriculture be authorized to sit during a recess of the General Court to make an investigation and study of senate documents numbered 372, 374, 380 and 383 and house documents numbered 738, 748, 817 and 853. 

Said committee shall report to the General Court the results of its investigation and study and its recommendations, if any, together with drafts of legislation necessary to carry such recommendations into effect, by filing the same with the Clerk of the House of Representatives on or before December 31, 2010.
