An Act CONCERNING THE ADOPTION OF FUNDING SCHEDULES BY THE CITY OF WORCESTER RETIREMENT BOARD.

Whereas, The deferred operation for this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is forthwith to allow the City of Worcester to generate needed savings, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding the provisions of section 22D of chapter 32 as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition of the General Laws, or any other provision of law to the contrary, the retirement board of the City of Worcester may vote to extend the period of the funding schedule up to ten years upon the completion of an actuarial report and acceptance of such report and the ratification of such vote by the public employee retirement administration commission.

SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect upon passage.
