SENATE BILL No. 1164

 

 

December 4, 2014, Introduced by Senator ROBERTSON and referred to the Committee on Local Government and Elections.

 

 

 

     A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled

 

"Michigan election law,"

 

by amending section 488 (MCL 168.488), as added by 1998 PA 142.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 488. (1) Section Sections 544c applies and 547 apply to a

 

nominating petition for an office in a political subdivision under

 

a statute that refers to this section, and to the circulation and

 

signing of the petition.

 

     (2) Section 482(1), (4), (5), and (6) apply to a petition to

 

place a question on the ballot before the electorate of a political

 

subdivision under a statute that refers to this section, and to the

 

circulation and signing of the petition.

 

     (3) A person who violates a provision of this act applicable

 

to a petition pursuant to subsection (1) or (2) is subject to the

 


penalties prescribed for that violation in this act.

 

     Enacting section 1. This amendatory act does not take effect

 

unless all of the following bills of the 97th Legislature are

 

enacted into law:

 

     (a) Senate Bill No.1167.                                            

 

         

 

     (b) Senate Bill No.1161.                                            

 

         

 

     (c) Senate Bill No.1163.                                                  

 

         

 

     (d) Senate Bill No.1165.
