1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to natural resources; modifying the definition of decontaminate for
1.3purposes of the invasive species chapter;amending Minnesota Statutes 2012,
1.4section 84D.01, subdivision 3a.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.6    Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 84D.01, subdivision 3a, is amended to read:
1.7    Subd. 3a. Decontaminate. "Decontaminate" means to wash, drain, dry, or thermally
1.8or otherwise treat water-related equipment in order to remove or destroy aquatic invasive
1.9species using the most recent "Recommended Uniform Minimum Protocols and Standards
1.10for Watercraft Interception Programs for Dreissenid Mussels in the Western United States"
1.11(September 2009) prepared for the Western Regional Panel on Aquatic Nuisance Species,
1.12or other protocols developed by the commissioner.
