1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to appropriations; eliminating the transfer of funds from the construction
1.3code fund to the general fund; appropriating money for electrical inspections in
1.4the event of a government shutdown;amending Minnesota Statutes 2010, section
1.5326B.36, by adding a subdivision; Laws 2007, chapter 135, article 1, section 16.
1.6BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.7    Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 326B.36, is amended by adding a
1.8subdivision to read:
1.9    Subd. 8. Inspections to continue during government shutdown. Notwithstanding
1.10any other law to the contrary, if an appropriations bill funding electrical inspections is
1.11not enacted before July 1 of an odd-numbered year, the existing appropriation amounts
1.12pertaining to that bill for the fiscal year ending that June 30 are in effect again at the
1.13base level through the fiscal year beginning July 1 of that odd-numbered year, except as
1.14otherwise modified by the legislature. The amounts needed to implement this subdivision
1.15are appropriated from the electrical inspection fees recovered.

1.16    Sec. 2. Laws 2007, chapter 135, article 1, section 16, is amended to read:

Sec. 16. TRANSFERS
1.18The commissioner of labor and industry shall
1.19transfer $1,627,000 by June 30, 2008, and
1.20$1,515,000 by June 30, of each year for fiscal
1.21years 2009, and each year thereafter, through
1.222013 from the construction code fund to the
1.23general fund.
2.1Of the balance remaining in Laws 2005, First
2.2Special Session chapter 1, article 3, section
2.32, subdivision 2, for the methamphetamine
2.4laboratory cleanup revolving loan fund,
2.5$100,000 is for transfer to the small
2.6community wastewater treatment account
2.7established in Minnesota Statutes, section
2.8446A.075, subdivision 1 .
2.9EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective July 1, 2013.
