1.1A Senate resolution
1.2honoring Grace Huff for receiving the Girl Scout Gold Award.
1.3WHEREAS, Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, helping girls
1.4to reach their full potential, develop positive values, and contribute to the improvement of society
1.5through their abilities, leadership skills, and cooperation with others; and
1.6WHEREAS, to earn the highest award given by the Girl Scouts of the U.S.A., the Gold
1.7Award, a Girl Scout in high school must complete leadership journeys that help her discover her
1.8interests, connect with others, and take action to make the world a better place. She must then
1.9spend at least 80 hours planning and completing a comprehensive and sustainable take action
1.10project that uses her talent and passion to positively impact her community; and
1.11WHEREAS, Grace Huff is a serving and responsible member of the Girl Scouts and has
1.12completed all requirements necessary to earn the Gold Award; and
1.13WHEREAS, she will receive the Gold Award at a Recognition Ceremony; and
1.14NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that
1.15it congratulates Grace Huff on receiving the Girl Scout Gold Award, and extends best wishes
1.16to her for the future.
1.17BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.18enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.19Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Grace Huff.
