1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating the Hill-Murray High School girls hockey team on winning
1.3the 2015 State High School Class AA girls hockey championship.
1.4WHEREAS, competitive sports in our high schools are helpful in teaching the principles of
1.5sportsmanship and fair play, thereby contributing to better citizenship; and
1.6WHEREAS, the Hill-Murray hockey team was one of eight teams that participated in the
1.72015 State High School Class AA girls hockey tournament on February 19-21, 2015, at Xcel
1.8Energy Center; and
1.9WHEREAS, after beating Eastview 6-1 in the quarterfinals and Edina 2-1 in the semifinals,
1.10they defeated the Minnetonka Skippers 2-1 in the final game of the tournament to win the state
1.11championship; and
1.12WHEREAS, the Pioneers finished the season with an outstanding 23-5 record; and
1.13NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota
1.14that congratulations are extended to the members of the Hill-Murray High School girls hockey
1.15team for their sportsmanship and skill.
1.16BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare
1.17an enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of
1.18the Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the principal of
1.19Hill-Murray High School.
