AN ACT

To amend chapter 304, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to storage fees for towed vehicles.




Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:


            Section A. Chapter 304, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 304.161, to read as follows:

            304.161. Storage charges for any towed vehicle, other than a commercial motor vehicle, shall not exceed twenty-five dollars per day. As used in this section, the term "storage charges" means the combination of all fees and other charges associated with the storage of a towed vehicle, including, but not limited to, storage fees, access fees, document fees, release of vehicle charges, and any other charges, the payment of which is required for the release of the vehicle to the owner or his or her designee.
