House Bill 1607
AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF COAHOMA COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO CONTRIBUTE ANNUALLY TO FAMILY AND YOUTH OPPORTUNITIES DIVISION, A NONPROFIT CORPORATION, IN AN AMOUNT TO BE DETERMINED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. (1) The Board of Supervisors of Coahoma County, Mississippi, is authorized and empowered, in its discretion, to contribute annually to the Family and Youth Opportunities Division, a Mississippi nonprofit corporation, a sum in an amount determined by the board, if such funds are available, from the county general fund to the Family and Youth Opportunities Division.
(2) The contribution authorized under subsection (1) of this section may occur if the division has maintained its 501(c)(3) status as a Mississippi nonprofit corporation under the laws, rules and regulations of the Internal Revenue Service and has filed federal and state tax returns, as required by such laws, in a timely fashion and has provided to the board of supervisors proof of such timely filing of such returns.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
