AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF TUNICA COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO CONTRIBUTE FUNDS TO MID-STATE OPPORTUNITY, INC., FOR THE PURPOSE OF OPERATING AND MAINTAINING A COMMUNITY SERVICE BLOCK PROGRAM IN TUNICA COUNTY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The Board of Supervisors of Tunica County, Mississippi, may, in its discretion, contribute from any available county fund, an amount not to exceed an amount equal to the avails of point eighty—five (.85) mills during fiscal years 2017, 2018 and 2019 to Mid—State Opportunity, Inc., a Mississippi
not—for—profit corporation.
The funds provided to Mid-State Opportunity, Inc., pursuant to this section, shall be used for the sustainability of community economic resources within Tunica County, Mississippi, including, but not limited to, providing a wide range of innovative employment—related services and activities tailored to the specific needs of the community; meeting short—term and long—term economic and employment needs of individuals, families and communities and making meaningful and measurable progress toward the reform goals of the Recovery Act with special attention to creating and sustaining economic growth and employment opportunities.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
