House Bill 4106

AN ACT TO RESTORE THE RIGHT OF SUFFRAGE TO JASON TERRELL CARTER OF MADISON COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The right of suffrage is hereby fully and completely restored to Jason Terrell Carter of Madison County, Mississippi, who was disqualified as an elector as a result of his conviction for the crime of armed robbery on April 14, 2005, in Madison County, for which he was sentenced to serve twenty (20) years on Counts II and III and ten (10) years on Count I under the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, with count III running concurrently with the sentence imposed in Count I and II.

     He was discharged on April 25, 2013.  The Legislature is informed that he has since conducted himself as a law-abiding and honorable citizen in a good and lawful manner.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
