A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE LIFE AND LEGACY OF CLARA LOUISE WILSON-GOODWIN AND EXPRESSING DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HER BEREAVED FAMILY AND FRIENDS UPON HER PASSING.

     WHEREAS, Clara Louise Wilson-Goodwin departed this earthly life on March 18, 2011, to enter into eternal rest with her Heavenly Father, causing great sorrow and loss to her family and friends; and

     WHEREAS, the daughter of Mary Donald Wilson and Jeff Wilson, Mrs. Wilson-Goodwin was born on March 1, 1919; and

     WHEREAS, a caring and generous woman, Mrs. Wilson-Goodwin's primary mission in life was to make sure that she was at church and that all of her children were there, in front, well-behaved and very respectful to their elders as well as their peers; and

     WHEREAS, Mrs. Wilson-Goodwin loved to feed anybody and everybody, often having the preacher over for dinner, which was a blessing to her and her children; and

     WHEREAS, this lovely and gracious, gentle Christian lady accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a very early age, and she was a lifelong member of Mt. Rose Missionary Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful and active member until her death; and

     WHEREAS, though she has traversed the river of life to now stand on golden heavenly shores, the legacy of her memory will continue in the hearts of her survivors, including:  three sisters, Ezola Brown, Alice L. Simmons and Delma Williams; two brothers, Milton Williams and Charles Williams; eight children, Annie Lucille Young, Mary Ollie Goodwin, Johnny Goodwin, Eddie Wilson, Larry Goodwin, Jeff Wilson, Phil Carlos Wilson and Gary Moss; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives, church members, friends and neighbors; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to commend the life of giving and caring individuals such as Mrs. Wilson-Goodwin, whose life was a beacon of hope and inspiration to all who knew her:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend the life and legacy of Clara Louise Wilson-Goodwin and express deepest sympathy to her family and friends upon her passing.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to the family of Mrs. Clara Louise Wilson-Goodwin and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
