A RESOLUTION COMMENDING DR. DAVID NORTHINGTON FOR HIS DEDICATED SERVICE AS CHIEF OF THE GULFPORT MEMORIAL HOSPITAL MEDICAL STAFF.
WHEREAS, Dr. David Northington concludes his successful tenure as Chief of the Gulfport Memorial Hospital Medical Staff; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Northington is an internist and hospitalist in Gulfport, Mississippi, and he received his medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, completed his internship and residency at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, and has been in practice for 19 years; and
WHEREAS, during his term as chief of the medical staff, National Research Corporation recognized Memorial Hospital among the nation's top hospitals as a 2014/2015 Consumer Choice Award winner in honoring hospitals whose healthcare consumers have rated as having the best quality and image nationally, and Memorial Hospital was selected as having the highest quality, best image/reputation, best doctors and best nurses; and
WHEREAS, Memorial Hospital was also recently ranked as best hospital in the coastal region of Mississippi for 2014-15 for the categories of Diabetes & Endocrinoloy, Neurology & Neurosurgery, and Nephrology in the annual ranking of hospitals by U.S. News & World Report, in its 25th year of recognizing hospitals that excel in treating the most challenging cases; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to commend the professional accomplishments of men whose professional lives serve the health of the citizens of the State of Mississippi:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Dr. David Northington for his dedicated service as Chief of the Gulfport Memorial Hospital Medical Staff, and express our sincere wishes for continued success in all his future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Dr. David Northington, Gulfport Memorial Hospital and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
