Senate Bill 2417
AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE AND DIRECT THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE PEARL RIVER BASIN DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT TO TRANSFER ALL STATE FUNDS RELATED TO THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE UNITED STATES ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS WATER DIVERSION PROJECT ON THE LOWER EAST PEARL RIVER TO THE MISSISSIPPI DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY TO BE USED ONLY FOR THE PEARL RIVER RESTORATION PROJECT AT WALKIAH BLUFF; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. For Fiscal Year 2018, the Executive Director of the Pearl River Basin Development District is hereby authorized and directed to transfer all state funds related to the construction of the United States Army Corps of Engineers Water Diversion Project on the Lower East Pearl River, not to exceed Four Million Dollars ($4,000,000.00), to the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality for the purpose of completing the Pearl River Restoration Project at Walkiah Bluff.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
