A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING DR. CHARLES OZBORN OF EUPORA, MISSISSIPPI, THE NATIONAL "2018 COUNTRY DOCTOR OF THE YEAR."

WHEREAS, the Town of Eupora, Mississippi, is celebrating Dr. Charles Ozborn, who was chosen "2018 Country Doctor of the Year" out of 3,000 possible entries; and

WHEREAS, country doctors are not a thing of the past. Today, country doctors still make house calls, know their patients personally and dedicate themselves to the care of their community. To honor these exceptional physicians and recognize their continuing contribution to rural health care, Staff Care is proud to sponsor the "2018 Country Doctor of the Year" Award. The award is presented each year to a physician who best exemplifies the spirit, skill and dedication of America's rural medical practitioners; and

WHEREAS, Charles Ozborn, M.D., is a practicing Family Practitioner in Eupora, Mississippi. Dr. Ozborn graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in 1964 and has been in practice for 54 years. He completed a residency at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. He currently practices at Eupora Family Medical Clinic and is affiliated with the North Mississippi Medical Center-Eupora. Dr. Ozborn is Board Certified in Family Medicine; and

WHEREAS, it is that kind of dedication that led a Texas-based medical staffing firm to name Dr. Ozborn the "2018 Country Doctor of the Year." It is all about commitment to the community and someone who really represents the rural style of practice, according to Staff Care, Inc. Staff Care is one of the nation's largest providers of temporary physicians. It has sponsored the Country Doctor Award since 1992. The organization gets several hundred nominations each year; and

WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize this Mississippian for extraordinary dedication to his profession and for his contributions to the citizens of his community and the State of Mississippi:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Dr. Charles Ozborn of Eupora, Mississippi, for his receipt of the National "2018 Country Doctor of the Year" Award, and extend to Dr. Ozborn and his family the best wishes of the Legislature in the practice of his profession and his contributions to his community.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Dr. Ozborn, forwarded to Mayor Lamar Dumas of Eupora, and made available to Capitol Press Corps.
