Senate Concurrent Resolution 633

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING GREENVILLE BANKER PARKER ENGLAND AS THE PRESIDENT OF THE MISSISSIPPI BANKERS ASSOCIATION YOUNG BANKERS SECTION.

     WHEREAS, Parker England of Greenville has been elected to serve as President of Mississippi Young Bankers, a section of the Mississippi Bankers Association.  Parker was elected at the group's Annual Convention, held March 7-11, 2016, in Point Clear, Alabama; and

     WHEREAS, Mississippi Young Bankers conducts programs around the state about personal finance.  The section also promotes leadership development and involvement in industry affairs.  The purpose of the Mississippi Young Bankers section of the MBA is education, educating Mississippians on how to effectively manage money, and the continuing education of young bankers, and encourages bankers to participate in consumer education activities.  The MYB's A Banker in Every Classroom Week and the Banking on Your Future program reach thousands of school children annually; and

     WHEREAS, Parker England is First Vice President at Planters Bank & Trust Company in Greenville.  He has been with the bank for nine years.  He received both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree from Mississippi State University.  He is also a graduate of the Mississippi School of Banking and the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University; and

     WHEREAS, Parker England serves as the President of the United Way of Washington County and Delta 360.  He is a Rotary Club member, a Salvation Army volunteer, a Mississippi Scholars presenter, First Presbyterian preschool Board Member, Greater Greenville Development Foundation Board Member, and a Washington County Scholarship Classic Board Member.  He and his wife, Frankie, live in Greenville with their daughter, Mary Wright, and son, Miller.  They attend the First Presbyterian Church; and

     WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we note this acknowledgment of professional leadership and civic dedication by a young Mississippi citizen:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby recognize Greenville Banker Parker England as the President of the Mississippi Bankers Association Young Bankers Section, and extend best wishes of the Legislature to Parker and his family on this auspicious occasion.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Parker England, forwarded to the Mississippi Bankers Association, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
