     Applies prevailing wage to work on Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital grounds and facilities.

An Act concerning wages paid for construction and rehabilitation work on Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital grounds and facilities and supplementing Title 30 of the Revised Statutes.

 

     Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

     1.    Each worker employed in construction or rehabilitation undertaken at any time after the effective date of this act on any portion of the grounds and facilities of the Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital which is owned by the State upon the effective date of this act, shall be paid not less than the prevailing wage rate for the worker's craft or trade, as determined by the Commissioner of Labor and Workforce Development pursuant to P.L.1963, c.150 (C.34:11-56.25 et seq.).  For the purpose of implementing the provisions of this act, the Commissioner of Labor and Workforce Development and the employer of the worker shall, and a worker employed in the performance of work subject to this act or any designated representative of the worker may, exercise all rights, powers or duties granted or imposed upon them by P.L.1963, c.150 (C.34:11-56.25 et seq.).

 

     2.    This act shall take effect immediately.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

     This bill provides that each worker employed in the construction or rehabilitation undertaken at any time after the effective date of the bill on any portion of the grounds and facilities of the Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital which is owned by the State upon the effective date of the bill, shall be paid not less than the prevailing wage rate for the worker's craft or trade, as determined by the Commissioner of Labor and Workforce Development pursuant to the "New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act," P.L.1963, c.150 (C.34:11-56.25 et seq.).  To implement the provisions of the bill, the bill requires the commissioner and the worker's employer, and permits the worker and any designated representative of the worker, to exercise all rights, powers or duties granted or imposed upon them by that act.
