SYNOPSIS
Requires DCA to adopt compressed natural gas vehicle home-fueling connections code.

An Act requiring adoption of a compressed natural gas vehicle home-fueling connections code, and supplementing chapter 27D of Title 52 of the Revised Statutes.
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. The Commissioner of Community Affairs, in consultation with the fire safety commission created pursuant to section 5 of P.L.1983, c.382 (C.52:27D-25e), shall adopt, pursuant to the "Administrative Procedure Act," P.L.1968, c.410 (C.52:14B-1 et seq.), a compressed natural gas vehicle home-fueling connections code for the purpose of establishing adequate and appropriate standards for compressed natural gas vehicle fueling systems in residential garages and dwelling houses. The compressed natural gas vehicle home-fueling connections code shall substantially comply with the National Fire Protection Association's Vehicular Gaseous Fuel Systems Code, NFPA 52, and shall be adopted no later than the first day of the 13th month next following enactment of P.L. , c. (C. ) (pending before the Legislature as this bill).
2. This act shall take effect immediately.
STATEMENT
This bill directs the Commissioner of Community Affairs to adopt a compressed natural gas vehicle home-fueling connections code.
This code will establish appropriate standards for compressed natural gas vehicle fueling systems in residential garages and homes, substantially complying with the National Fire Protection Association's Vehicular Gaseous Fuel Systems Code, NFPA 52. Code adoption will be required within approximately one year of this bill's enactment.
