       AN  ACT to amend the public authorities law, in relation to enacting the
         "MTA board member attendance act"
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section  1.  Short  title. This act shall be known and may be cited as
    2  the "MTA board member attendance act".
    3    S 2. Subdivision 3 of section 1263 of the public  authorities  law  is
    4  amended by adding a new paragraph (e) to read as follows:
    5    (E)  IN  ORDER  TO  CAST A VOTE ON PROPOSED FARE HIKES, A BOARD MEMBER
    6  SHALL ATTEND A MAJORITY OF PUBLIC HEARINGS.
    7    S 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
