          tee on Codes -- ordered  to  a  third  reading,  amended  and  ordered
          reprinted, retaining its place on the order of third reading

        AN  ACT  to amend the criminal procedure law, in relation to designating
          as peace officers certain employees of  the  Monroe  county  sheriff's
          office  serving  as  court  security  deputies  at Monroe county court
          facilities

          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section  1.  Section  2.10 of the criminal procedure law is amended by
     2  adding a new subdivision 87 to read as follows:
     3    87. Persons employed by the Monroe county sheriff's office serving  as
     4  court  security  deputies  at  Monroe county court facilities; provided,
     5  however, that nothing in this subdivision shall be deemed  to  authorize
     6  such  officer  to  carry, possess, repair or dispose of a firearm unless
     7  the appropriate license therefor has been  issued  pursuant  to  section
     8  400.00 of the penal law.
     9    §  2.  This  act shall take effect on the thirtieth day after it shall
    10  have become a law.
