       AN ACT appropriating funds for a new state skills compact course program
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. For aid for costs associated with establishing a new  state
    2  skills  compact  course  program designed to provide one hundred percent
    3  state assistance for the cost of providing  community  college  training
    4  and  re-training courses for workers who are affected by the downsizing,
    5  closure or relocation of regional employers, an additional apportionment
    6  of two million dollars ($2,000,000) is hereby appropriated to the  State
    7  University  of  New  York  under Community College Operating Assistance,
    8  Local Assistance Account, from the General Fund.
    9    S 2. Such moneys shall be payable on the  audit  and  warrant  of  the
   10  state  comptroller  on  vouchers  certified  or  approved  in the manner
   11  provided by law.
   12    S 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
