       AN ACT to amend the general municipal  law,  in  relation  to  volunteer
         wilderness/inland search and rescue teams
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. Section 209-bb of the general municipal law is  amended  by
    2  adding a new subdivision 3 to read as follows:
    3    3.  WHENEVER A LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY OR OTHER STATE AGENCY IS ENGAGED
    4  IN A SEARCH OR RESCUE OPERATION, ANY VOLUNTEER WILDERNESS/INLAND  SEARCH
    5  AND  RESCUE  TEAM  INVOLVED  IN  SUCH  OPERATION SHALL BE SUBJECT TO THE
    6  COMMAND AND CONTROL  OF  THE  LAW  ENFORCEMENT  OR  OTHER  STATE  AGENCY
    7  CONDUCTING SUCH OPERATION.
    8    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
