       AN  ACT  to amend the public housing law, in relation to police services
         provided to the New York city housing authority
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section  1. Section 402 of the public housing law is amended by adding
    2  a new subdivision 5-b to read as follows:
    3    5-B. THE NEW YORK CITY HOUSING AUTHORITY SHALL NOT BE REQUIRED TO  PAY
    4  ANY CHARGES, ASSESSMENTS OR OTHER FEES IN CONNECTION WITH POLICE PATROLS
    5  PROVIDED  TO  HOUSING FACILITIES BY THE NEW YORK CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT.
    6  ANY PROVISION OF ANY AGREEMENT, CONTRACT, MEMORANDUM  OF  UNDERSTANDING,
    7  OR OTHER ARRANGEMENT BY WHICH THE NEW YORK CITY HOUSING AUTHORITY AGREES
    8  OR  IS REQUIRED TO PAY ANY SUCH CHARGE, ASSESSMENT OR OTHER FEE SHALL BE
    9  NULL AND VOID; PROVIDED THAT THIS SUBDIVISION SHALL NOT AFFECT OR IMPAIR
   10  THE EFFECTIVENESS OR ENFORCEABILITY  OF  ANY  OTHER  PROVISION  OF  SUCH
   11  AGREEMENT, CONTRACT, MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING, OR OTHER ARRANGEMENT.
   12    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
